In the work that I do, it is an incredible honor to witness countless men as they rediscover themselves, their true nature, and the unique gifts they have to offer to the world.
There is something special about being witnessed in this way and something powerful about comprehending that you have a unique gift that no one else on the planet possesses.
We All Have a Gift
We are born with innate abilities – what I call ‘gifts’. I think of gifts as the thing or service that you offer to those around you, it is an actionable and tangible change in the space, people or emotions that you come in contact with.
What is confusing about gifts is that no one ever talks about them and there isn’t a lot of everyday awareness surrounding our mystical presence.
It can feel lonely because almost everyone thinks everyone else has the same gift, and wonders why others don’t respond or comprehend the world the same way.
I’ll tell you a little secret: no one on the planet has the same gift as you.
You are unique. The real ass kicker is then that if you don’t give your gift, no one else will, it has to be you.
The Beginning of Discovery
If you are wondering what your gift is, or think you may have a notion about what you are gifted with, it is helpful to start with the overall picture.
There are what I call “families” of gifts, or a way of grouping within the same kind of flavor of impact. The ones I have personally witnessed so far are: Empaths, Seers, Transmitters, Pushers, Translators/Oracles, Prophets/Visionaries, Believers and Healers.
Don’t get hung up on the names, I just made them up to categorize what I have seen and I’ll describe them in further detail below.
Each family of gifts then breaks down further into our individual flavors and abilities.
Empaths: have the ability to viscerally feel what other people are feeling. There are many versions of empathic ability which can include the ability to feel another’s pain, emotion, memory, or desire.
Seers: have the ability to observe, witness or ‘see’ information about others. This may include the ability to see purpose, shadow, sacred wounds, destiny, or dreams. There is a distance quality to this gift where the Seer doesn’t physically feel what they are seeing, but rather sits more as an observer.
Transmitters: has the ability to control the emotion or the space in a room or with people. They can literally transmit a memory, emotion, or thought to another person. (A good read on this concept is The Giver).
Pushers: I haven’t come up with a better name for this, so I apologize if the word is offensive. A Pusher has the ability to push their will on another or a group. They can convince others to do what they wish in a remarkably short amount of time (seconds, in some cases).
Translators/Oracles: have the ability to translate dreams, signs and other worldly occurrences. They have a unique bond with the unseen realms and seem to speak the language of symbol, sound and earth.
Prophets/Visionaries: have the ability to see the future. Not joking, it’s a real thing. The range of this ability can be anywhere from a personal future, finances or health.
Believers: have a special place in my heart. Believers have the ability to bless, approve of, or otherwise empower those around them. They create powerful people, circumstances and places just by their presence alone and act as a kind of amplifier for other people’s talents.
Healers: as the name suggests, healers have the ability to heal and their range includes physical (treating disease, etc.), emotional (healing past trauma), spiritual or energetic, generational wounding, painful memories or systems.
What. In. The. Hell.
I understand this all might sound crazy. I understand there might be a part of you completely discounts all that I have said.
But I assure you that you have a gift, even if the idea of that kind of power is unnatural or unnerving to you. I promise it is within you.
I believe that the more knowledge and language one has for what is occurring, what they are doing, the more control and choice they can have over it.
And only then can one be free.
Find Your Gift
Take a look at the list above. Which gift resonates with you the most? Meaning, which description makes you think, “that sounds fucking awesome” or “that sounds uncomfortably familiar”. Both responses are indicators that you may have that particular gift.
In this weeks video, I’m going to outline a very simple procedure and test that you can use to easily identify what your gift might be.
Before we sign off I just want to say, thank you for being a good man.
Thank you for doing the work you need to do to become who you are meant to become.
Thank you for sharing your self so willingly.
Thank you for your desire to embark on the beautiful and continuous process of becoming.
In the comments below the blog– go ahead and post what you think your gift might be, or if there is another gift you have witnessed besides the ones listed, I’d love to hear it!
